As petrol and diesel prices surge, the Treasury takes more, Welsh Labour slumps in the polls, and the anti-Reform left looks more rattled than confident.
Thanks for this post. I'm a Reform member but I was dismayed that reform did not vote in the Tory bill to resume exploration in the north sea. One of the big reasons I joined reform was because of their policy on net zero. I know that the bill was not going to succeed but all the same. Why didn't reform vote for the bill?
On the North Sea vote, Reform's position has generally been to focus on their own legislative agenda rather than lending support to Tory bills, particularly ones with little realistic chance of passing. The argument is that voting for a bill that won't succeed risks it being used as a political prop. That said, I completely understand the frustration — if opposing net zero was a key reason you joined, you want to see that acted on in practice. It's a fair challenge to put to the party directly.
Thank you Jamie for helping us through the noise and spelling it out clearly for us. It is terribly worrying and frustrating to see all this happening before our eyes and feeling like there is little that we can do other than vote. Something has to change! We cannot expect different results from the same, Labour government. It has been shameful!
Thank you Maria, really kind of you to say. You're absolutely right — it can feel deeply frustrating watching all this unfold. But that's exactly why documenting it clearly matters, so people have the facts rather than the spin. Voting remains the most powerful tool, and the data suggests more and more people are using it to send a very clear message. Thank you for reading and for the support!
I second that. Perhaps you could be the new Reform ONS, with figures that really mean something, instead of the woeful stats coming out of this joke of a government !
