The Chancellor keeps citing Brexit, but falling GDP per head, no growth in January and crippling industrial electricity costs point to a much more immediate problem.
It's nothing to do with Brexit. Covid and the inept mismanagement by the Tories with further exacerbation by this illiterate government is why we are where we are.
We need more people like you and Liam Halligan calling out these dunces. The Mike Graham Show is a great and growing vehicle for this.
Proper Brexit was blocked by Labour and many MPs. My car driving software for a minor example is blocked from operating because we have to wait for the EU to authorise it. Why? We are not in the EU.
Plenty of opportunities to lead the way and have an encouraging business tax rate but prevented because we are scared of the communist EU.
As for Rachel she can’t keep blaming the tories so now needs to blame it on leaving the EU. They lie and lie and lie.
You make a fair point. One of the frustrations is that many of the opportunities Brexit was supposed to create haven’t really been used. Instead we’re still hearing the same arguments about the past rather than seeing a clear growth strategy now.

I will keep trying.
I agree. Someone else worth following is Catherine McBride.
This government simply wants us to rejoin the EU, come what may. Any excuse will do.
Exactly - should focus more on matters at home.
Clearly they think it's better to drown in a crowd rather than alone.
