đ¨ Digital ID Lies, 1,160 In vs 4 Out, and Walesâ âFar Rightâ Storm
Digital ID wonât stop the boats, Britainâs removals are still in single digits, and Welsh politics is being shaken up
This week, three big themes dominate â the Governmentâs push for Digital ID, the ongoing migration merry-go-round, and a Welsh political row that exposes just how out of touch the political class really is.
1ď¸âŁ Digital ID â Lies, Spin, and Control
The Government is rolling out ministers to sell Digital ID as the silver bullet for Britainâs border crisis.
But the reality is simple: Digital ID has never stopped illegal migration anywhere it has been tried. I laid out the facts here:
đ Digital ID hasnât stopped illegal migration
To make matters worse, theyâve wheeled out Darren Jones â the same minister who went on Question Time and claimed the majority of small boat arrivals were women and children.
That was a lie. The latest Home Office data shows:
â 79% of arrivals are adult males
â 82% are aged 18 to 39
If heâll mislead the public on TV, why should anyone trust him with Digital ID?
Hereâs the tweet I posted this week that sums it up:
2ď¸âŁ 4 Out, 1,160 In â Britainâs Migration Merry-Go-Round
Another week, another example of how broken the system is.
The Government boasted about sending four people back to France. But in the same week:
1,072 crossed on Friday
85 more on Saturday
3 were actually transferred into the UK from France
Thatâs 1,160 in vs just 4 out â nearly 300 arrivals for every deportation.
Since I wrote that piece, the latest update suggests that another two people have been removed, bringing the total to six. But that still leaves Britain with 1,160 in vs 6 out â the scale of the imbalance hasnât changed.
Meanwhile, asylum seekers are being ferried around in ÂŁ600 taxis, while hotel costs spiral at ÂŁ6 million a day.

3ď¸âŁ 29% of Welsh Voters Back Reform UK. Is Plaid Cymru Calling Them All âFar Rightâ?
A Plaid politician branded Reform UK âfar rightâ in the Senedd. But new polling shows Reform neck-and-neck with Plaid â and leading for Westminster
But letâs be clear: when nearly a third of Welsh voters back a party, dismissing them as extremists is really an attack on the voters themselves.

đ Final Word
Three stories, one thread: the gap between politicians and the public is growing wider.
They promise Digital ID will fix migration â it wonât.
They boast of tiny deportation numbers â while thousands arrive.
And in Wales, they sneer at voters who want change.
Thatâs why Iâll keep cutting through the spin and giving you the facts â every week.
