As always Jamie is bang on with his analysis cutting through the crap. I still get so very angry about it all even now. I've mentioned in other comments how I saw the worst of COVID with my mum very critically ill in ICU in a coma for 5 weeks with a total stay in hospital overall of 5 months but I will never ever believe what they did was the right thing to do. Particularly as Jamie refers to - how they treated kids. Literally viewed as verminious vessels of toxicity that would kill granny if they didn't stay off school and hidden away. I have no kids but I will never forgive them for what they did to kids and the impact of that is still greatly felt by some kids even now.
This inquiry was only ever going to conclude exactly as it has, it has been a total waste of time and money. Jamie has cut through the bumph we were bombarded with from the off so easily and backed up with all the data and stats, the true stats not the scaremongering modelling and the nonsense daily briefings scarefest. I don't think there was anyone in mainstream media challenging any of it, they went along every step of the way and dare I say almost revelled in their scaremongering and pathetic questions at the daily briefings.
I'm no fan of Boris but to try and suggest he's responsible for at least 28,000 deaths because he didn't order lockdown earlier is for the birds.
I have noticed that the people who throughly enjoyed the panic and hysteria, wore their masks, sanitised their shopping, walked in the middle of the road rather than pass a potential virus blob, queued up for numerous jabs, swabbed their noses after every sneeze. Those people don't like talking about the Covid years other than to say that millions died and millions more were saved by the jabs. People who said children were "resilient" but also little bags of germs. People who sat in their nice gardens in the pleasant summer of 2020 getting their groceries delivered whilst tapping away on their laptops. Did they believe Covid would kill them? I think many of them didn't but they also didn't care about the people who fell for the whole fiasco and who still wear masks and test themselves regularly. They didn't care about the people who believe their already old, frail, sick relatives died of a novel new virus. The people who can't/won't join any dots because then they'd have to accept most of those deaths were due to hospital and care home behaviours towards people who were already sitting in God's waiting room. I will never forgive any of the people who played along.
It is all very well to say now that the actions taken at the time were….rubbish, and that lives MAY have been saved if actions were a week earlier - but who had those statistics at the time they were being collected? The statistics you quote were not available at the time and nobody could predict what was going to happen. Even if we responded to Italy’s disaster outbreak sooner who knows how many could have been saved.
The disaster started in November 2019 not in February 2020 and some were saying that china was a mere 12 hr flight away but nobody was stopping those across the whole world - where were the calculations for losing lives from those mistakes?
