Jamie Thank you for publishing the data.

What efforts I wonder are made to establish how many of the 'asylum' claimants subsequently return home to their 'dangerous' country once their claim is agreed? ... and if they return home, why isn't their right to 'asylum' removed?

We all know we are being scammed but why is there no appetite to address it? Sheer laziness or infiltration ?

This is a gradual take over of the UK by residents of a particular country, a bit tree like, starts small and then you have a huge thing that takes over your garden like a conifer that is hard to manage and uncontrollable without leaving an ugly bald patch.

Some in their culture treat women very badly and either they change their culture or they need to leave. It is appalling what some of them do and their attitude towards them. I can understand the women seeking refuge but not so much the men. Why aren't the lefty 'liberal' women in this country fighting this ?

We need to ensure that cultures adapt to the British way of life and Burkahs and other tools to control women should be banned in the UK. Praying in the street should also be banned. We all know it is a control thing as well and they are exerting their 'power'. There is a theme in their culture.

Spot on. The core of the issue is the 'in-country' claim. With over 90% of Pakistani claimants arriving via legal visa routes rather than small boats, it suggests the asylum system is being used to bypass standard immigration controls. The contrast between the high volume of social visits to Pakistan and its status as the UK's top asylum source is a contradiction that current policy seems unable, or unwilling, to resolve.

If I was fleeing Britain because of persecution, logically I would apply for asylum in France or Ireland. Not in countries half way round the world. Also, who are the Brits holidaying in Pakistan? Somehow I doubt many are called Sharon and Tony. The whole asylum system is a total scam and we're the mugs paying for it

You should go to Manchester Airport and sit down to watch the queues for Pakistani and Indian Flights, the sizes of family groups and the shenanigans that go on to try and beat the baggage allowances, etc.

Mahmood knows this. But was not on her first list of Visa restrictions. The Press Conference had a question, if Pakistan was the biggest villains, why was it not a priority ? Queen Mahmood mumbled. No action taken. Islamaphobia is the name invented by the terrorists Muslim Brotherhood and used as a shield by every British Authority.

Pakistan is a top ten population country in the world. Is a large absolute number of asylum seekers the right metric to use especially when then compared to Australia, New Zealand and Norway with small populations?

Has a comparison been made between US visitors to Mexico and Mexican asylum seekers in the US? Would this show the same high visitor rate and high asylum rate?

Pakistan is a relatively low average income country compared to your other example countries. Does that have an impact on the asylum count or count per population ? Ie an economic factor in addition to any valid asylum reason for making the claim.

Also worth noting that Pakistan recorded 1.4million net migration leavers in 2024, a rate of around 5 in a thousand of the population left through all routes not just asylum. So leaving Pakistan seems to be a common practice.

I agree with the central premise that a large number claiming asylum after entering by an entirely different route deserves more attention and investigation. That is not how many would believe the system is meant to work.

Why can't we block their return flight?
